Description
Nettoor Petti, Kerala’s traditional jewel box is a symbol of prosperity. The ancient Kerala women used to keep their ornaments inside the Amadapetti, a casket made of rosewood and richly decorated with brass. An exquisite mix of beauty and utility, it is also used as an elegant home décor. This ethnic jewel box was originally designed in the Nettur region of Thalassery in Kannur district of Kerala. The embellishment on the exterior of the Nettoor petti is derived from the temple architecture of Kerala.
